The paintings entitled ‘Spectral Presents’ give form to the ethereal. These vibrantly coloured and textured ghostly forms appear to have no real substance beyond eyes and mouths, taking the simplicity of a pared back identity to its limits. Elemental in their ‘presences’, the phantasms hover on the border of visibility: seeming to emerge into view - or perhaps in the process of disappearing.
Celestial Family, 2024. Acrylic on canvas. 9 works in group, 135 x 120 cm. Exhibited in solo exhibition 'Strange Company', 2024. Celestial Family suggests an otherworldly universe inhabited by an ensemble of shadowy, creaturely and at times, demonic, forms.
