Reclining Figures, 2024. Glazed ceramic & porcelain, rubber mat.

This series re-imagines the sculpture tradition of the figure in a reclining pose. The barest elements possible are used to convey a hybrid human-nonhuman presence: tiny punctured eyes and mouths squint and grimace as these awkward figures seem to have either fallen down or are attempting to get up off the ground. The evident hollowness of the figures suggests they could be inhabited - air can flow in, through and be expelled.
